My passion lies with helping others reach their fitness goals through gradual lifestyle changes. My attributes of persistence and patience are what I believe help me motivate others to be successful. I have a BA in Sociology from Cal State LA. I hold Personal Training certificates through NCCPT and ACE. I have spent three years as a Medical Assistant and one year as a Physical Therapy Aid and hold certifications for both positions as well as a Functional Aging Specialist certification through FAI. When I’m not training at the studio I love cycling up the coast, running on Fiscalini Ranch, backpacking, tending my garden or spending time with my grandkids.
Make physical fitness a lifestyle
A colleague and fellow fitness lover paid for my initial certification so I could cover for her while she was recovering for surgery. Once I worked with her clients, I was hooked! I am grateful for two excellent mentors who encourage and continue to educate me every step of the way.
I come to the table with a passion and enthusiasm for fitness, and I love to apply my areas of knowledge toward the specific needs of each client. I am forever rewarded by everyone's progress and wholeheartedly believe that we are all in this together. Through consistency and motivation we can all see positive physical and emotional results. So happy to be a part of this process!
Movement is everything!!
My objective is to help integrate the movements in class into your daily life through gentle movements and breathing. I am a certified practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method and hold a MFA in dance from New York University. I taught dance for 15 years at Cal State Fresno before becoming a Feldenkrais Practitioner. I'm foremost a teacher and enjoy working with diverse groups including the elderly, infants, those who have learning disabilities or who've had brain trauma injuries.
Healthy in Mind and Body
I come to Cambria with an East Coast history, including running a yoga studio for 16 years and teaching yoga for 30 years! My first yoga training is also from the East, at Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, MA. I also trained with Sarah Powers and Paul Grilley in Yin Yoga. My passion is teaching flows, gentle, hatha, Yin and Restorative Yoga. I like to empower the yoga practitioner, honoring the body, mind and breath. I invite you to discover or continue the practice of yoga. In my free time I like to hang out with my daughter Jen and my cat Zoey. I love to walk in the woods and on the beach, and ride my bike.
Honor the mind, body and breath
I am a Certified personal trainer and a Beachbodylive certified Piyo instructor. I teach group fitness classes that provide a whole-body workout. With foundations in Strength Training, Pilates and engaging in light cardio, I enjoy contributing to the client's improvement of balance, strength, posture, health and attitude. This has been a rewarding field to participate in, as I watch clients grow stronger, gain confidence and engage in healthier lifestyles.
I’m Rachelle Stambal. I received my teaching credential in 2004 through Aura Wellness Center.
2007-2009 I taught yoga at Los Osos Fitness and the Morro Bay Community Center.
I believe Yoga is accessible to all body types. Intensity levels vary with type. The intensity of your yoga practice depends on which form of yoga you choose. Techniques like hatha and iyengar yoga are gentle and slow. Bikram and power yoga are faster and more challenging. Students can choose how deeply they want to go as it is a personal journey. I love helping my students explore their practice in a supportive environment.
My approach to teaching is to lead my students in an effective, safe asana practice while having fun!
When I'm not teaching I love walking my dog on the Fiscalini Ranch, taking care of my chickens and making my handmade soaps.
The Attitude of gratitude is the highest Yoga
